Since 2019, the ensemble Floridante has served as the Haapsalu Early Music Festival’s “house band” and organisational backbone, inviting each summer a beloved vocal soloist from one of its seasonal concerts. Creating a joint program for one of Floridante’s concert series a few years back was also the starting point of collaboration between Floridante, tenor Guy Cutting and baritone Alvar Tiisler.

A unanimously crafted programme of the most beautiful Baroque arias for male voice was recorded in mid-summer 2024, and the long-awaited album featuring music by Bach and Handel will be released this summer under Brilliant Classics. In addition to arias by the two great German masters, the programme also includes songs and instrumental pieces from H. Purcell’s stage music.
