For over thirty years, Concerto Copenhagen has embarked on a journey of discovery, exploring music from the Baroque, Viennese Classical, and Early Romantic periods with historical awareness and unwavering commitment. Today, Concerto Copenhagen stands as a leading light in its field, both nationally and internationally. 

In the 2nd half of the 18th century, music for festivities, banquets, outdoor events and cafés, became a very popular genre, often referred to as “nachtmusik” or “serenade music”. The sole purpose was to entertain and excite. The concert program “Eine kleine Festmusik” taps into this timeless human urge - chatting, gossiping, joking, getting drunk and chasing skirts – just as today: music was needed to provide the right atmosphere!
