The opening night of the 33rd Haapsalu Early Music Festival will be dedicated to Georg Friedrich Handel’s oratorio Joshua (1747). This powerful musical drama portrays the biblical hero’s righteous struggle on behalf of his people. By interweaving the triumph of faith, courage, and divine guidance with a moving love story, the composer reveals the full expressive force of his musical language.
