“Fusion Anthems”
Kairiin Kukk is a jazz pianist and composer who is fascinated by music as a space for discovery — an opportunity to push boundaries, step away from conventional rules, and explore new timbres and forms of expression. She is developing a distinctive musical voice in which jazz, contemporary music, progressive rock, and metal are interwoven. At the moment, Kairiin’s goal is to release her debut album by the end of this year. She has participated in numerous projects, including the 2024 Nordic Jazz Meeting, an exchange programme at the Academy of Music and Drama in Gothenburg, and the 2025 IASJ Jazz Meeting in Austria. This year, she was awarded the Audience Favourite title at the Estonian Jazz Awards.
This midsummer concert takes over the Philly Joe's stage with a band delivering the most electrifying jazz-fusion hits from legendary ensembles such as Weather Report, Yellowjackets and Snarky Puppy. The concert takes listeners on a journey through the eras and timbres of fusion music, weaving together jazz, funk, rock and world music influences into one pulsating whole. This is music that gets your head nodding and your feet moving at the same time – the grooves hit so hard you could build a house on them!
