Stuudiokontsert: Alonette & Erki Pärnoja • Jazzkaar 2024

Alonette is the latest alias of the talented songwriter Anett Tamm. Tamm, who actively collaborates with bands like Alfa Collective and the duo TamTam formed with Karl Tammaru, and who is also the recipient of the Young Jazz Talent award at the Estonian Jazz Awards, pleasantly surprised her fans with an exceptional single Twist of Fate in early January. The song, which echoes the author’s fondness for 70s rock music and Americana, sets a high standard. It is reminiscent of the best work of artists like Wilco, Joni Mitchell and folk-pop artist Weyes Blood. Erki Pärnoja’s guitar arrangements are fresh and stylish, adding vibrant hues to the already luminous vocals.

Erki Pärnoja is a composer and guitarist, recognised for his contributions as a guitarist for the band Ewert and The Two Dragons, as well as for his solo career. In 2021, his album LEVA won the Estonian Music Awards in the category of Alternative/Indie Album of the Year. A year later, Pärnoja received nominations in both the Alternative/Indie Album and Album of the Year categories for his collaboration with Collegium Musicale on the album Anima Mea.
