Charlie Price inherits a shoe factory from his father. On his quest to save the family business from bankruptcy, Charlie meets drag queen Lola and makes her an exciting business proposal: to produce more eye-catching footwear than practical men’s shoes. This is a heartfelt and uplifting story about friendship, individuality, and high heels.
Born in the symbiosis of Cyndi Lauper’s music and lyrics, and Harvey Fierstein’s book, the famed musical Kinky Boots won six Tony awards, including the Best Musical Award.
The musical is brought to the Vanemuine audience by Finnish stage director Samuel Harjanne, whose earlier musical productions Les Misérables and Sister Act have been warmly received in Tartu.
