MIKK KAASIK - ALBUM "TAKE ONE" PRESENTATION CONCERT
Friday, August 23, 9 p.m. at Philly Joe's Jazz Club
In August, young jazz pianist Mikk Kaasik will rock the stage with his debut album "Take One" presentation concert at Philly Joe’s Jazz Club Tallinn. The ensemble started playing together in the fall and they will conquer the stage with higher energy than the electricity prices of Estonians.
The author of the songs and band leader is the young jazz pianist Mikk Kaasik. Music has been a part of Mikk's life for as long as he can remember. His first musical steps were taken with classical piano studies and singing. Mikk found his love for the jazz piano at the age of 17, when he went to study at Heino Eller's music school under Jürmo Eespere. He considers his biggest role models to be Cory Wong, Ray Thistlethwayte, Bill Evans and Wynton Kelly.
It is from the combination of jazz, funk and fusion that he has made the album "Take one". The talented musician has also won the Uno Naissoo composition competition with the song "Rapid Resonance". The winning song can be heard at the album's presentation concert.
