Philly Joe’s Jazz Club and Tallinn Fringe have joined forces once again to introduce out-of-box, interesting and new artists as part of this years’ boldest cultural festival!
Tidi&bande is a collective led by singer and songwriter Karoliine-Lisette Kõiv, aka Tidi. In February 2022, Tidi&bande entered the Estonian music scene with their debut album “Hommikpäevõhtuööö”. In 2025 the band released their second compilation EP “tule nagu oled” ("come as you are") which the group will also present as part of Tallinn Fringe.
The album was recorded during the autumn months of 2024 in Tartu at Ö Studio under the guidance of Martin Kikas. “Tule nagu oled” (“Come As You Are”) is a return to oneself and at the same time a gentle romantic invitation to someone who is not there yet, who is barely there or who will soon arrive. The lyrics to all songs were written by the leader of the ensemble Karoliine-Lisette Kõiv while living in Portugal, when she experienced an identity crisis and rediscovered her own value as part of her jazz music studies. “With these songs, I want to inspire the listeners with the courage to be vulnerable, overcome fears and be open to accepting themselves and others just as we are,” describes Kõiv. “The band’s new songs are darker, more electric and have a confident character.” The short album deals with the problems and questions that arise in the life of a young adult, seeking answers to them both within themselves and in the surrounding environment.
