Jazzkaar will present Nordic Ballads, the latest project by master instrumentalist and versatile composer Villu Veski. The music inspired by ancient Nordic myths and sagas is performed by singer Katrina Petersen, whose roots lie in the Faroe Islands and Denmark, alongside Danish guitarist Andreas Ugorskij, keyboardist Raun Juurikas, and Villu Veski himself. The ballads are performed primarily in Faroese, with additional songs in Danish, Swedish, Norwegian, and Icelandic. Adding an extra layer of primal power to the already rich programme are musicians from the drum ensemble Šatro.
