BIG BAND DAY: Tallinn Police Orchestra Big Band
Monday, March 17, 8 p.m. at Philly Joe's Jazz Club
The new Big Band Day series brings Estonia's beloved jazz orchestras to Philly Joe's Jazz Club and revives the scene from the early days of underground jazz clubs - rows of instrumentalists on stage, thrilling rhythms and a liveliness that will keep you entertained the whole evening!
The first concert of the series invites the Tallinn Police Orchestra Big Band, a group of jazz-loving musicians who have been active in the Estonian music scene for over 20 years. The conductor of the big band is Siim Aimla. The group can be considered as pioneers who brought big band music out of the shadows in the newly independent Republic of Estonia, popularizers of the music genre and a springboard for many young Estonian jazz musicians. The Police Orchestra Big Band consists of well-known and recognized jazz musicians in the Estonian music scene.
Concert will be held in two sets.
Between live sets, the music will be curated by Philly Joe's staff, playing strictly vinyl!
Table reservations 10€ per table: info@phillyjoes.com
