The genre- and border-crossing quartet Odyssey, the latest project by the creatively restless pianist and composer Kirke Karja, is rooted in Ancient Greek mythology and one of the foundational texts of Estonian culture, Lennart Meri’s Hõbevalge (Silverwhite). The music has been created especially for Jazzkaar 2026. Alongside Karja, the lineup features soprano Annabel Soode – known from Klassikatähed (Rising Starts of Classics) and currently studying in Berlin – Italian drummer Giovanni Iacovella from the popular band Raw Fish, and Dutch guitarist Teis Semey. The result is an immersive, profound, and charismatic musical show.
