The concert-performance "Birth of Light" (Valguse sünd) presents new works by three Estonian composers, featuring world premieres by Maria Rostovtseva, Astra Irene Susi, and Liis Jürgens.
The music is performed by the Tallinn Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Erle Kont-Vilson. Soloists are Vambola Krigul (percussion) and Joonas Mikk (vocals), accompanied by actor Richard Ester (Estonian Drama Theatre). The artistic vision is brought to life by director Astra Irene Susi.
"Birth of Light" is not born from a desire for quick harmony, but from the belief that true artistic truth lies in the friction between elements.
The Tallinn Chamber Orchestra is a premier ensemble operating under the Tallinn Philharmonic. Over nearly three decades, the orchestra has evolved into one of Estonia's representative collectives, frequently performing on concert stages across Europe and the rest of the world.
The concert is held in collaboration with Tallinn Music Week.
