Perekontsert: Kadri Voorand & Silver Sepp • Jazzkaar 2024
The traditional Jazzkaar concert for the youngest audience and their parents is back! Kadri and Silver promise you: “The kids are going to have an incredible fun! They will be able to sing and dance, listen to and watch unseen fantasy instruments.” Kadri and Silver, both being fantastic communications, will take the young listeners on an exciting musical adventure.
The dazzling jazz singer and composer Kadri Voorand is known to music lovers from the vocal ensemble Estonian Voices, her duo with Mihkel Mälgand and several other groups. She has received the Young Cultural Figure award from the President of the Republic, Musician of the Year from Estonian Public Broadcasting and Female Artist of the Year at the Estonian Music Awards (all in 2019), as well as several Estonian jazz awards, both as a composer and performer.
Singer and songwriter Silver Sepp has been active in bands such as Svjata Vatra and Bombillaz, and currently plays bowl percussion instruments in the ensemble Ro:toro and also performs with poet Kristiina Ehin. He has gained attention for his “fantasy instruments,” which he often crafts from recycled materials. Among other creations, Sepp has built a nail harp from an old fishing net, and played music on sewer pipes, a bicycle wheel and water drums made from six bowls and 20 litres of water.
Kadri and Silver played fascinating instruments at the children’s jazz festival Kräsh last spring. At Jazzkaar they will surely surprise the audience with something novel and super exciting!
