Hedvig Hanson, Marek Talts, Taavo Remmel “Saabumine” • Jõulujazz 2024
Beloved musicians Hedvig Hanson, Marek Talts and Taavo Remmel invite listeners to experience a meditative moment filled with sensitive and beautiful music. At Christmas Jazz, these three longtime friends will perform a selection of both secular and sacred pieces, enhanced by the exquisite acoustics and serene atmosphere of the churches.
Hedvig Hanson, whose voice and artistry are rich with nuance, has gradually turned inward over the years, preferring quieter, more intimate concerts. With over 30 years of experience as a performer, she has released 16 albums and collaborated with a variety of ensembles, ranging from duos to big bands, achieving international acclaim. Rather than conforming to the contemporary trend of technicality and external effects, Hedvig has stayed true to her roots in soulful, old-school music.
Marek Talts is a guitarist known for his work in various ensembles and projects, with a focus on rhythm music and improvisation. He has played in groups such as the Mingo Rajandi Quintet, Liisi Koikson’s ensemble, Trio Maag, the Kadri Voorand Quartet and Ro:Toro.
Taavo Remmel is a highly regarded double bassist and music educator. Alongside his involvement in various ensembles and orchestras, he is a member of the renowned ensemble Hortus Musicus and is part of the personnel at Eesti Kontsert.
