Ruben/ Yaralyan/ Rämmal. Jazz Meets 80s Pop
RUBEN/YARALYAN/RÄMMAL. JAZZ MEETS 80s POP
Friday, April 10, 8 p.m. at Philly Joe's Jazz Club
The popularity of jazz music in its heyday was due to the fact that musicians took popular pieces of music familiar from films and musicals of that time and improvised on them.
With their concert program, Ruben/ Yaralyan/ Rämmal Trio takes popular, less performed pieces, mostly from the 80s. The aim is to take these captivating melodic songs and develop them into newer versions that would appeal to both the demanding jazz audience and listeners who have remained loyal to pop music.
You’ll also hear the ensemble's favorite songs from artists such as Duran Duran, Ultravox, David Bowie, etc. The bands' biggest hits have been resurrected to start a new life in a new circle - with the audience's help, of course!
Line-up:
Tanel Ruben - drums, vocals
Ara Yaralyan - double bass
Rain Rämmal - piano, keyboards
The ticket does not guarantee a seat, we recommend arriving early or making a table reservation for 10 € per table: info@phillyjoes.com
