In January, music lovers around the world looked back on the gold-standard career of David Bowie, marking ten years since the legend’s passing. At this year’s Jazzkaar, a musician who played a crucial role in the twilight years of Bowie’s creative journey takes the stage – please welcome Donny McCaslin! The American saxophonist was a member of Bowie’s final band and played a central role in shaping the sound of Blackstar. At Jazzkaar, McCaslin will present his album Lullaby for the Lost, released in autumn 2025 and praised by All About Jazz for its fusion of studio precision and high-energy raw performances – music that strikes a perfect balance between explosiveness and refined improvisation.
