 (Allveelaeva tänav, Tallinn)

Seaside summer sunsets accompanied by a nice concert in Noblessner, aka Wambola Guitar Wednesdays concert series, is waiting for you to come and enjoy the summer in Tallinn. On the second to last concert of the series we will enjoy unique feel-good guitar music by Johannes Laas trio.

At the heart of the Johannes Laas Trio musical world are melodies, playfulness, and lightness — though contrasts are essential to emphasize beauty. The color of their music is sustained by improvisation and the synergy that emerges through playing together with Tallinn's masterful rhythm section Robert Rebane on bass and Martin Petermann on drums.

The concert will feature original compositions that include both introspection and reflections on the situations offered to us by the colorful world around. Songs will be performed from Johannes’ debut album "Öö" as well as from the recently released full-length album Passenger Seat (listen on Spotify here).

“I feel that now is the right time to present my music in a more intimate setting,” said Johannes, who has previously performed his original works mainly in a quintet format.

Johannes Laas is a musician and composer. He graduated from the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre and the Heino Eller Music School. In addition to his own music, he performs with beloved Estonian artists such as Rita Ray, ANETT, Ingrid Rabi, Gertu Pabbo, and Grete Paia, and is also active in groups such as MiaMee and Alfa Collective, among others. In 2019, Johannes received the Tiit Paulus Young Guitarist Award.

Robert Rebane began his musical journey as an accordionist at the Nõmme Music School and the Georg Ots Tallinn Music School under the guidance of Olivia Kalluste and Tiit Kalluste. He achieved strong results in several original composition competitions. Alongside accordion, he also independently learned piano and guitar. In 2019, Robert graduated from the jazz department of the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, specializing in bass guitar. He performs in ensembles such as De Jong/Rebane/Kantonen Trio, Tobias Tammearu Trio, Pennar & Friends, Puhkuseloomad, and Pillikud.

Martin Petermann is a drummer who has been active in the jazz, pop, and rock music scene for over a decade, recording and collaborating with many different artists. Currently, Martin can be seen performing with Alonette, Liisi Koikson’s ensemble, Alfa Collective, Angus, Frankie Animal, Polarflies, Tobias Tammearu Trio, and Pennar & Friends.
