Hungarian folk group PásztorHóra!

Five young virtuosos, who use strange instruments to smuggle a little Moldavia into the big city spin: they are PásztorHóra!

Since its foundation in 2014, the band has moved at least ten thousand people in more than a hundred locations in four countries. Their first LP, which will be released this year, sums up their five years so far with the title: I will never forget you. The record was prepared for several years, so it is also an imprint of the band's life journey so far. Interoperability between styles is the band's trademark. The members performed individually in countless styles, from early music to jazz, pop music and metal.

PásztorHóra, despite its unique, modern image and ideas, does not forget what it is fed by: their repertoire also includes compositions from the violinist collections of orchestra leader András Bergics. One of the band's special features is the orchestration, which differs from the currently active, flute-oriented Moldovan bands. The pursuit of the original, traditional sound in Moldavia is served by the interplay of violins, the reconciliation of dulcimer and kobzo traditions, and they can accommodate two pipers in one csarda.

Musically, they are forged by their love of Moldovan folk music, seasoned with their own impressions, ideas, and experiences, proving that folk music can be both historical and contemporary. With their multi-faceted personality and ferocious concerts, they create an unparalleled atmosphere, a magic that once captivates you, never lets go.

At the core of PásztorHóra’s music are folk tunes of Csángós – a small Hungarian ethnic group of Moldavia. They spice this music up with their own impressions, ideas, and experiences and mix together different styles. The band members have performed in countless styles, from early music to jazz, pop music and metal. PásztorHóra fuses together the old and new and sounds both historical and contemporary at the same time. Mustjala festival is focusing on violins this year but in addition to violins other instruments will sound from the stage as well. Dulcimer and koboz join the violins, accompanied by not only one but sometimes even two bagpipes. PásztorHóra creates a magical atmosphere at their concerts, their pounding rhythms and swirling tunes will captivate you!
