Estonian games package • CEV EuroVolley 2021

01.09 - 09.09.2021
 (Paldiski maantee 104b, Tallinn)

24 teams will take part in the finals of the European Mens Volleyball Championship from 1 to 19 September. In the group stage, the teams will be divided into four 6-member groups. Group stage rounds will be held in four countries - in Estonia, as well as in Finland, the Czech Republic and Poland.

The tournament, which will take place in Saku Suurhall, will see the Estonian men`s national team face off against France, Germany, Slovakia, Croatia and Latvia.

The Estonian team will start its European Championships journey on Wednesday, September 1, at 19:00 playing against Latvia.
Latvia, having previously played only once, in 1995, in the European Championship finals, secured a place in the final tournament last autumn by qualifying against Spain, Moldova and Cyprus.
In recent years, the Estonian team led by Avo Keel has played several times. Estonia`s favourite status is confirmed by the fact that we have won against the Latvians in the last 12 matches, the most important of which were played before the 2019 European Championships, when we played against them twice in the play-off to the final tournament. This year, we defeated the Latvian team twice in the European Gold League group tournament. Latvia`s last victory over Estonia dates back to 2013. Hopefully, the Estonian victory series against the Latvians will continue and we will get off to a flying start at the European Championships held locally.

Schedule of Estonian’s matches:
September 1 at 19:00 Estonia - Latvia
September 4 at 16:00 Estonia - Slovakia
September 5 at 16:00 Estonia - Germany
September 7 at 20:00 Estonia - Croatia
September 9 at 20:00 Estonia - France

The four best teams from each group will advance, with 1/8 and 1/4 finals played in Poland and the Czech Republic, 1/2 finals and medal rounds in Poland. The European champion of 2021 will be announced on September 19 in Katowice.
